This Millhouse has been completely
refurbished and brought back to life. We installed an internal
staircase with stainless steel wires as balustrading, and an
external cantilevered viewing platform which hangs out over a
stream which feeds the main water wheel

We fitted 10mm glass strips from the 4th
floor to the first floor to form a continuous glass vertical
balustrade.

We have provided a stainless steel
balustrade with stainless steel perforated infill panels which
were all brush polished, with this we also provided a stainless
steel stringer to the stairs and landings to give a contemporary
look.

Main Contractor: Farnrise Construction
We worked very closely with the
Architect in designing a glass balustrade that looks like it
comes out of the floor, but also to withstand the lateral
loadings put upon it from the public The end result is an open
feel Restaurant area, which enhances the building space.

Main Contractor: Haymills
This was a difficult project for the
main contractor due to the listed building.
We provided all the internal stainless
steel handrails, access staircase to the roof level, and the
main access gates.
We were very pleased that the building
has had some great reviews and now that the client has moved in
it has become a world renowned art gallery. We are very proud to
have had some input within the buildings construction.
Main Contractor: Mitie Group
We constructed a glass lift enclosure that went from ground to
first floor with a wrap around staircase c/w stainless steel and
glass balustrade. The enclosure was a steel frame clad with 19mm
toughened glass which allows the public to see the workings of
the lift which is quite unique
The lift has become the focal point to
the entrance of the library.

Handrails to outside seating area. All
material Grade 316 stainless steel for durability with clear
toughened glass infill panels.
A major contract with a national
contractor for the RNLI in Newhaven.
Main entrance with stairs and disabled
access ramp in galvanised steel with perforated panels.

Galvanised mild steel rails and
perforated panels.

Security extension to the side entrance
gate with perforated panel.
Main Contractor: ROK
Architect: Lomas Cassidy
We worked very closely with the
Architect on this project to overcome many problems with the
main internal staircase that we designed. The staircase, as our
photo's show, is cantilevered out from the building with no
structural support posts. The client wanted an open feel almost
' Hovering' effect.
We were very pleased that the whole
project was short listed for the Stirling prize and was shown on
Channel 4.
The building has since won various awards for its sustainability
and environmental design.
