Working with Clients

We provide advice and support to Iron Designs Limited in the areas of Corporate Risk Management and general health and safety advice and have worked with them in planning their recent move to new and larger premises.

Company profile – A & T Consultants Limited

The company was set up in February 1997 to provide a consultancy service to the construction sector specialising in construction risk management for both clients and contractors, as well as offering general health and safety advice to a broad range of clients.

Construction sector

A & T Consultants Limited has worked with leading architectural, surveying and engineering practices on a wide range of projects including hotels, pubs and restaurants; offices, shops, warehouses and retail outlets, industrial developments, as well as in the educational sector with schools, universities and colleges; and the telecommunications sector.

Projects have involved new build in traditional construction; steel frame and concrete pre-cast panel construction, metal profiled cladding; specialist civil engineering projects; extensions to existing premises; refurbishment of offices, shops and residential accommodation.

We were also involved with the enabling works for the NEQ Brighton Station site – a 15 acre town centre site involving the demolition of redundant railway buildings, bridges and access ramp; the diversion of gas, water and electricity main services; the construction of new retaining walls, access roads and the new car park for Network Rail.

Corporate risk management

We provide advice on corporate risk management dealing with fire, environmental as well as health and safety issues and offer full audits as well as training on corporate risk management

Training

We offer training courses covering construction risk management and CDM for clients, architects, surveyors and engineers; site safety awareness for contractors and a range of construction related topics – these courses are specifically tailored to meet the special requirements of our clients.

We have also been involved in writing extensive course ware for local authorities including a course for Highways engineers for Transport for London (Tfl) and the 32 London Boroughs.

Publications

We have been involved in the production of a number of publications for the RICS including Surveying Safely and the RICS Scope of Services.

Tony Baker is the Author of the RICS publication – “CDM2007: A guide for clients and their advisors”. He is also a regular contributor to the RICS construction journals and is a contributing author to the recent publication “Corporate Liability: Work Related Deaths and Criminal Prosecutions” published by Bloomsbury Professional.
