Cooden Drive, Bexhill

Contractor- Westridge Construction.

This was one of a number of projects we have carried out for the Main Contractor, we used one of own grade 316 stainless steel balustrade systems for this project which consisted of 50mm tubular handrails on standards fixed back to the timber balcony structural with structure engineered brackets, 10mm clear toughened glass infill panels connecting to the standards with glass clamps.

This system gave the client the best possible view out to the English Channel giving the structural constraints of fixing metalwork to timber structures, which have to comply with the Building Regulations with regard forces put on the balustrading which can be from 0.74 to 1.5kn depending upon the buildings usage and number of persons using the space.
